Faculty & Staff
At Pitt, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where all feel welcome. To help make this commitment a reality, the University hosts many faculty and staff organizations, such as:

The Equity, Inclusion and Anti-Discrimination Advocacy Committee of the University Senate advocates for equity and inclusion in University practices, policies, and programs.

The Provost's Advisory Committee on Women's Concerns (PACWC) seeks to ensure a productive educational and work environment for faculty, staff, and students, particularly in areas related to women's concerns.

The Staff Council serves as a center for input and dissemination of information and provides a means of communication between staff and other members of the Pitt community. SAC recently established a Diversity and Inclusion subcommittee to focus on the University climate.
Student
Student organizations play a major role in our active and vibrant campus community. Undergraduate and graduate students are able to join and get involved.
The Student Organization Resource Center certifies more than 400 sponsored and independent student organizations to operate on campus, and it provides information, resources, services and training to enhance their operation.

The Asian Student Alliance serves as a representative body, acting in the interest of Asian students, Asian student groups, and students interested in Asian culture.

The Black Action Society promotes the cultural, educational, political, and social needs of African American students.

The Campus Women's Organization aims to represent Pitt women and their interests.

Students for Disability Advocacy is a student group that is dedicated to advocacy and advancement of students with disabilities.

Hillel JUC serves an estimated 1,700 Jewish students through a variety of umbrella organizations on campus.

The Muslim Students' Association (MSA) is dedicated to serving Muslim students on campus and educating the campus community about Islam and Muslims. The MSA has created a series of videos cleverly using the format of the NBC comedy The Office, integrating Muslim daily rituals to inform viewers about the practices and challenges of young Muslim adults.
