Civil Rights and Title IX Training

Educating faculty, staff and students on identifying, preventing, responding to, and reporting sexual misconduct is critical in order to prevent and to reduce the impact of sexual violence. To that end, the University provides many educational opportunities.

Trainings by the Title IX Office

The Title IX Office offers many different workshops designed to foster conversation around topics of bystander intervention, sexual harassment, the responsible employee program and more.

Request Orientation Training

Staff members are available to provide brief overviews of the Title IX Office during orientation programming.  Hosting Title IX at your orientation helps to ensure that all incoming students understand Pitt's commitment to a harassment free environment. 

Campus Partner Trainings

A variety of campus partners also offer important training. 

Educational Videos

The University of Pittsburgh provides many educational opportunities about Title IX policies, procedures, and best practices.  One of the ways we expand the reach of those offerings is through short, educational videos.

Sexual Assault Facilitation and Education (SAFE) Peer Educators

SAFE is a group of trained peer educators who are dedicated to educating their peers around topics such as relationship violence, sexual violence, consent, interpersonal communication and bystander intervention.

‘Circle Up!’ facilitated workshops

A new program called “Circle Up” is helping student groups break down walls and talk about their personal experiences—including sexual agency, consent, relationships, and identity.
